Tévelave forest

Tévelave forest

Colored wood forest, tamarind grove and high-altitude vegetation cover thousands of hectares, giving shape to the western flank of the national park. From the tamarind forest track linking Le Tévelave to the Maïdo road, a number of hiking trails invite you to immerse yourself in a luminous natural space, through well-preserved endemic flora and fauna. During your walks, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the papangue, an endemic species and Réunion Island’s only nesting bird of prey.

The Route forestière des Tamarins is lined with picnic stands, some with breathtaking views, ideal for a cool, open-air outing!
