Hike to Piton de Bert

Once past the Plaine des Sables, a large parking lot (parking de Foc Foc) appears on the right. This is the starting point for a walk that’s accessible to the whole family for two reasons: there’s no change in altitude, and the path is easy. The other great thing about this walk is that it offers a breathtaking view of the volcano and its ramparts. You can stop at Piton Rouge to admire the panorama, or continue on to Piton de Bert.
