Le Tour des Roches

Here’s a not-to-be-missed one-hour family outing by car or bike. From the Saint-Paul bus station, drive under the bridge towards the Grande Fontaine district. Once under the dual carriageway, turn left onto this picturesque road.
The Tour des Roches is home to a multitude of plant species: bamboos, coconut palms, palms, papyrus … It’s a peaceful, timeless place. The paddlewheel you can see today was used to power a cassava mill dating from 1820. A few hundred metres past the mill, you come to the Savanna district, a commercial zone of little interest, but home to the Maison de la Réserve de l’Etang.
