Loop duration: 3h40 mn. Difficulty: medium. Elevation gain: 618 m.
From Saint-Denis, take the boulevard sud, then the direction of the Sainte-Clotilde clinic. Follow the signs up this road to Bois de Nèfles. Le Pic d’Adam is then signposted all the way to the terminal parking lot.
This trail on the Pic d’Adam loop is truly extraordinary. Well-known for its sumptuous views of Saint-Denis and the surrounding hills, the climb is shaded by lush vegetation. The ascent is made in the shade, in lush vegetation, where guava trees, tamarinds, colored woods, eucalyptus, longoses and fanjans mingle. The view from the Pic d’Adam (1222 m) is one of the finest on the north coast.
Tips: It’s best to do the ascent on the right-hand side of the loop, so as to enjoy all the views that come into view on the descent on the left. Given the large number of hikers, mountain bikers and Dionysians on weekends, it’s best to go during the week.
