The colorful Kovil Kali Kambal is a typical Tamil temple. Its portal, called Gopura, overlooks Rue du Maréchal Leclerc. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kâli. It was built in 1917 by the local community of shopkeepers. Small and simple, it has been enlarged and restored many times over the years. The edifice is made up of small, colorful pyramidal structures, representing the sacred mountain on which Hindu deities stand. These include Shiva, Ganesh, Parvali and many others.
