The Stella Matutina Museum occupies 5,000 m² of a former sugar factory of the same name, closed in 1978. A visit to this factory gives you the opportunity to discover the history of Réunion Island and the secrets of sugar and rum production. Touch screens, 4D cinema, scale models and children’s activities explore the history of sugar cane and sugar production on Réunion Island. Impressive machines bear witness to this industrial past. The tour concludes with a nostalgic stroll back in time, around the “boutik sinois” and the “car courant d’air”. A visit not to be missed, both instructive and entertaining.
