Saint-Denis‘ longest, busiest shopping street, perpendicular to rue de Paris, stretches east to the Butor district. It concentrates a mosaic of populations and religions representative of Réunion Island: the large mosque, the Tamil temple Shri Kali Kampal Kôvil, the Chinese pagoda (in nearby rue Sainte-Anne), as well as the Petit Marché where Indians, Creoles and Madagascans rub shoulders in a lively, colorful atmosphere.
