Ravenales trail

This trail takes its name from the Malagasy word for ravenale, or traveler’s tree, native to Madagascar. This is not a tree, but an ornamental arborescent plant with vast fan-shaped leaves that can reach heights of 10 to 30 meters when fully grown. The trail crosses a number of fords and ladders, but is not difficult even for the youngest visitors (although it should be avoided in wet weather).
