The Maison Martin Valliamé, an Art-Deco Creole house built entirely of wood in 1925, is a listed historic monument. At the time, it belonged to Doctor Léopold Martin, who dreamed of an exceptional place. The villa had 24 rooms and different entrances, depending on the social class of the guests. On his death, the house was sold to the Valliamé family. It has become a place of exchange and encounter between the different cultures of La Réunion.
