Le Brûlé is a village in the heights of Saint-Denis, on a plateau 800 m above sea level that extends via the Plaine des Chicots to the Roche Écrite rampart overlooking the Cirque de Salazie at 2,275 m above sea level.

Le Brûlé is a must for hikers wishing to climb the Roche Écrite, one of Réunion’s most popular destinations. Just outside the village, a 5 km forest road leads to the Mamode Camp parking lot, the starting point for many walks. Picnic areas and barbecues. From here, the plateau is extended by the GR R2, which crosses the Plaine des Chicots towards La Roche Écrite.
