6 Quai Gilbert, 97490 Saint-Paul
The Hôtel Laçay takes its name from Paul Laçay, a butchery entrepreneur from Saint-Paul who arrived in La Réunion in 1830. When the Société de Marines Réunies was founded in 1867, the building was used as the company’s office. Today, the building houses a restaurant.
Not far from there, you can take a short stroll to the Saint-Paul landing stage to admire the bay and the Indian Ocean, before heading for the charming Place du Général de Gaulle, right in the center of town, where you can not only see the elegant façade of the Hôtel de Ville, but also stroll by the fountain, in the shade of the trees and palm trees.
