The beach is just off the main road between Saint-Pierre and Saint-Joseph. After Grand-Bois, at a roundabout, a sign indicates “Grande Anse” on the right.

It’s like a postcard landscape, with its white sandy beach contrasting with the deep, intense blue of the ocean. In fact, it’s the last beautiful stretch of white sand, shaded by filaos, before the jagged black basalt coast of the Sud Sauvage.

On the land side, the site, recently redeveloped, is magnificent with its green spaces, coconut palms, lataniers and vacoas. For all these reasons, the site is very popular with the locals, who often come here on Sundays to picnic and enjoy a curry with the family.

On-site: picnic areas, green spaces, bowling green, large parking lot, sanitary blocks, snack bars and restaurants.

Swimming is possible only in the natural pool at the end of the beach, at the foot of the Grande Anse peak.

An easy walk: the Piton Grande Anse

Accessible from the beach, close to the pond, this charming trail offers spectacular views of Cap de Petite Ile, overlooking the beach.
