Ilet à Malheur via the Scout trail (Cirque of Mafate cirque)

Duration: 3h one-way. Medium level. Negative altitude gain: 1100 m.
Start: Scout trail parking lot. On the road leading to Col de Boeufs, stop about 3 km before the Scout trail parking lot. Do not confuse this with the Augustave trail parking lot, 800 m ahead on the “Haut Mafate” forest road.

The Scout trail is one of the most beautiful itineraries in the Mafate cirque, dotted with superb viewpoints. You can spend the night at Ilet à Malheur, or continue for 40 minutes to Aurère.
